A Fresh Start

After 18 years at OneStarryNight.com, I’ve decided to start over!

Since not everyone will visit this space from OneStarryNight, I figure I should let you know a bit about me.

  • I’m 37 years old.
  • I’m a mom to two amazing boys, 17 and 10.
  • I’m a Libra sun Gemini moon Sagittarius rising .
  • My MBTI personality type is ENFP.
  • I’ve been Pagan since I was 12 years old.
  • I love cookbooks but rarely, if ever, use a recipe. I adore Ina Garten!
  • I’m allergic to wheat and my youngest son is allergic to tree nuts and peanuts.
  • I have a herd of cats.
  • I have four tattoos. Both wrists, back of my neck, and just below my inner elbow.
  • I love to read . I prefer supernatural fiction. My Kindle Unlimited account is a blessing! I wouldn’t mind some more book suggestions.
  • I absolutely do not like chocolate.
  • I am completely self-taught when it comes to photography , CSS, HTML, WordPress , etc. I find it very easy and it “clicks” in my head.
  • I’m a twin, fraternal, and she’s two minutes older than me.
  • Autumn is my season. Bring on all of the apple – pumpkin – leaf goodness!

Starting over is a bit scary. I started my first website at Angelfire in 1998, started my first blog using FrontPage and GreyMatter in March of 2001 with a shared domain with my sister, SpunkySprite. Then I purchased OneStarryNight in November of 2001 and have been there since. For the past few years, I’ve really struggled with the site, too many memories perhaps? I will leave the site up, probably forever, but with the bare minimum of a theme and an archive of 2,220 posts from barely 19 years old to 37 years old.

What you’ll find here is helpful posts on WordPress, CSS, a few recipes, a ton of photos, and some posts of whatever is going through my mind.

So here I am, starting fresh, hoping for another 18 years of memories on this site. I also have all brand new social media accounts.

I truly hope you stick with me!

Do you have a blog? Have you ever had to start over with your site or social media? Let me know in the comments!

The site looks fantastic in the mobile version of Chrome! I think I’ve been on social media only for too long… I kind of wished there were just a heart I could click instead of commenting. Haha!

Yay! I’m so happy you’re back to blogging <3 I've been working on a new site myself to get back to writing. I'm sure you've probably missed it as much as I have. I hope it gives you an outlet to be creative again and lifts your spirits.

It’s so ironic that I make such a big change and then freeze up. It’s been a crazy… decade but even in just the last few months there’s been just SO MUCH going on that I get overwhelmed and I put myself and my interests to the wayside. It’s a never ending battle!

Sometimes I think about starting over. Or just not renewing my website. I struggle with what I want to do with it all the time. It seems like YouTube is the big thing now, but I am not a fan of recording myself.

I understand, the landscape has totally changed since a lot of us started out. For me anyway, I struggle with feeling like I’m speaking to the void. I’ve never been one to write for the sake of writing, I want to feel heard.

I don’t think I could do YT, I’m way too thin-skinned!

I have visited onestarrynight.com many times over the years and commented occasionally. I am so glad to see you have a new blog. I always loved the old one. I might have had you linked at one time, I honestly can’t remember. I really love the redesign! I have been blogging almost the same length of time and started with Grey Matter and FrontPage as well and had numerous domains over the years, settling on my current one in 2009 and have been there ever since. I have no plans on a new name any time soon. It’s too much a part of me. I have started over a few times but not in years. I remember it being tough though. I can’t wait to see where this blog takes you!

Thank you so much!

I will never give up OSN, it’s such a huge part of who I am, but I did feel like I needed something different after almost two decades. I started OSN when I was barely 19!

I’m hoping, especially with the new year coming up, that I can get back blogging fully, even if it’s just a few times a month.
